Fall 2027 Pre-K Prospective Family Open House

On Thursday, November 19th, Saint James School will host an Open House for prospective families interested in our Pre-Kindergarten programs for the 2027-2028 school year.  If you know of anyone who may be considering Saint James School for Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 next year, please invite them to attend!  Any currently enrolled families with a student that would be BRAND NEW to our Pre-K program next year are also welcome to attend.  RSVP is required HERE for this Open House event.  An Open House for the K-8 program will take place in early February during Catholic Schools week.  Informational tours for 2027-2028 have also begun.

As a reminder, we are now accepting NEW STUDENT applications for next year.  If your SJS student has a younger sibling or friend that is looking to join us in September 2027.  Only students who will be BRAND NEW to the school need to complete an application.  For currently enrolled SJS students (including Pre-K3 & Pre-K4), you do not need to do anything at this time;  Returning student registration will be sent out in February.

Questions regarding admissions for next year may be directed to Admissions@SaintTeresaCatholic.org.

State XC Championship

Good luck to our SJS runners participating in the Cross Country Middle School State Championship meet on Saturday at Wickham Park!  For any families that will be there that, there is a charity run in the midst of the other races that non-XC siblings and parents can participate in.  If you would like to read more from the race organizers, the information can be found below:

Once again, moms, dads and other family members will have a chance to run over the Middle School Championship “B” course in a charity fun run to benefit needy kids. After learning that nearly 60% of the students at Manchester High School are on the reduced or free hot lunch program because of family income, it became apparent to me that something had to be done. Many of these kids are trying to run Cross Country and Track with worn out shoes, which leads to injuries. They can’t afford proper running shoes, get discouraged, and quit.

This charity run will fill the void between the first set of “B” races and the start of the “A” races while the Wickham Park staff is parking cars. The run will take place at 11:40.

HSA Meeting Tonight

The SJS Home & School Association will hold its November meeting this evening – Wednesday, November 4th – from 6:00-7:00pm in the school cafeteria. We encourage all Pre-K through Grade 8 parents to attend to learn about ways to get involved in our school community and get information about events that will be upcoming in the next few months.

We will be talking about our 2027 Gala & Auction Fundraiser, anyone who would like to be on the committee, please try to attend (or reach out to HSA@SaintJamesSchool.net if you are unable to be there but would like to get involved).  Many hands are needed to help make this fun community event a success!

Last Call: Ski & Snowboard Club Planning

Our parent volunteer coordinator, Mr. Joyner, is working on details for the 2027 Ski/Snowboard Club.  To plan effectively and book the correct bus size, we need to get a solid count of students riding the bus and our adult bus riders/chaperones.  Please complete the interest form below by Wednesday, November 4th.  Please only complete the form for those who know they will participate.  Ski & Snowboard Registration Paperwork will be sent to people who have completed the form before we open it up to other families/students.

PLEASE COMPLETE THIS FORM (<– Click Link)

Here are the details for those who have not participated previously:

*Club Dates this year will be 1/8, 1/29, 2/5, 2/19.

*Open to students in grades 3-8. Students in grades 3 & 4 must have a parent/guardian with them for each session.

*No prior experience required for students.  Chaperones (even those of students in grades 3 & 4) do not need to ski/snowboard, but are absolutely welcome to do so.

*The group leaves right from school following 2:00pm dismissal. We ski/snowboard at Mount Southington.  We return to the school about 8:30pm.

*Last year the cost of the bus was $120 per rider (this amount covers all four dates – will vary based on # of riders but should be around the same amount this year).

*The group cost for the 4 lift tickets this year is $176 (total), optional ski/snowboard lessons for all 4 sessions is an additional $72, and optional equipment rental for all 4 sessions is an additional $84.

We are looking forward to another great year on the slopes!
