State XC Championship

Good luck to our SJS runners participating in the Cross Country Middle School State Championship meet on Saturday at Wickham Park!

For any families that will be there, please note that there is a charity run in the midst of the other races that non-XC siblings and parents can participate in.  If you would like to read more from the race organizers, the information can be found below:

Once again, moms, dads and other family members will have a chance to run over the Middle School Championship “B” course in a charity fun run to benefit needy kids. After learning that nearly 60% of the students at Manchester High School are on the reduced or free hot lunch program because of family income, it became apparent to me that something had to be done. Many of these kids are trying to run Cross Country and Track with worn out shoes, which leads to injuries. They can’t afford proper running shoes, get discouraged, and quit.

This charity run will fill the void between the first set of “B” races and the start of the “A” races while the Wickham Park staff is parking cars. The run will take place at 11:40.
