Instrumental Music Notes

Thank you to our instrumental music families for a great start to the new year and our new band schedule.  Mr. Barakat asked us to pass along the following message:
Dear families,

It has been a great pleasure to meet and work with your young musicians these past few days. Students have been helpful, polite, eager and able to take instruction well.

Going forward:  7th & 8th grade band students will report to Advanced Band Rehearsals (Wednesday mornings from 7:15am – 7:45am);  5th & 6th grade band students will report to Intermediate Band Rehearsals (Thursday mornings from 7:15am – 7:45am).

Students who played in a previous year and are switching an instrument will be asked to come to a special “Convert Class.” This will be scheduled during regular school hours.

A more detailed schedule is forthcoming.

Registration for band students ends Tuesday, September 30th, so if a student missed the first week, that’s fine.  If there are other questions I can answer, please reach me at mrbarakatband@gmail.com

It has been an absolute treat working with St. James students. The idea of working at a school like this is the reason I went to college, and I can’t wait to see what we do together!
