This past weekend the SJS cross country team concluded its season by joining other teams from around the state in the Middle School CT State Championship meet at Wickham Park in Manchester.  We had 5 medalists!  In the girls race, Morgan Gaidos (5th overall) and Ava Davis (42nd overall);  On the boys side we had Luke Szupryczynski (5th overall), Will Flenke (9th overall) and Charles Zaleski (10th overall).  Many runners achieved a personal best in their race time: Zoey B., Ava D., Mattingly D., Grace H., Sophia K. and Ryan R.  Great job Sabers!!

For the season, the boys went 8-0 in dual/tri meets and the girls went 6-2.  This includes wins over some large public schools.  The team also had great showings at the McGee and Wickham Invitationals.  We are so grateful to our awesome volunteer head coach, Mr. Miller, for all his time and energy making this a fun activity for our student and all those that assisted him throughout the season!  SJS will host an end-of-season banquet for our runners and volunteer coaches during school hours on Tuesday, November 11th.  Students should wear their gym uniform with their XC shirt over it on 11/11.
